Things to know before you go!

What is rug tufting?

Rug tufting is a technique of creating rugs by pushing yarn through a fabric backing using a tufting gun or needle. It’s a popular method for crafting unique, handmade rugs.

How do I book an appointment?

Do I need any prior experience to attend your workshops?

No prior experience is necessary! Our workshops cater to beginners and experienced tufters alike. Our instructors will guide you through every step of the process.

How long are the workshops, and what can I expect to learn?

Workshop durations vary depending on the session you choose. Generally, workshops run for 2 – 4 hours, the time it takes you to finish will depend on the size of the frame you choose, and the complexity of the design. You’ll learn the fundamentals of rug tufting, including design concepts, tufting techniques.

Are workshops suitable for children or groups?

Yes, we offer workshops tailored for children 14 years and up and can accommodate group bookings for special occasions such as birthday parties and team-building events. Contact us for more information on group bookings.

What happens after the workshop?

After completing the workshop, we will add the finishing touches including finishing the backing and cleaning up the edges. It takes 24 hours for the backing adhesive to completely dry. When done, you can pick it up or we can ship it to you for an additional fee. It can take up to 5 to 10 business days to receive your finished rug. Additionally, we provide resources and tips for maintaining your rug to ensure it remains a cherished piece for years to come.

What if I don’t finish my rug within the workshop time?

One of our expert instructors will be happy to finish it for you.

Workshop Appointments

All workshop appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made 48 hours before the scheduled workshop are eligible for a full refund. No refunds are issued for cancellations within 24 hours. For rescheduling please email us with the new date.

Safety Guidelines

Rugs U Tuft instructors will give instructions on safe use of equipment will be provided at the start of each workshop.

Age Requirement

Participants must be 12 years or older. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Personal Property

Rugs U Tuft is not responsible for lost or damaged personal belongings during workshops.

Custom Rug Orders

Custom orders require a 50% deposit upfront, with the remainder due upon completion. Allow 2-3 weeks for production.

Photo and Video Consent

By participating, guests consent to photos and videos being taken for promotional purposes unless otherwise requested.

Code of Conduct
